FAQ's for Maternity Sessions
⏰ WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO HAVE A MATERNITY SESSION?
The ideal time for your maternity session is between 30–35 weeks. At this stage, your bump is beautifully round and prominent, but baby hasn’t quite made their grand descent into your pelvis just yet — which means your belly still sits nice and high (and looks extra flattering on camera!).
That said, it’s completely up to you. Every pregnancy is different, so if you're feeling good and glowing, we can absolutely plan your session outside that window if needed.
📸 CAN I SELECT THE IMAGES/SETUPS THAT I WANT FOR THE MATERNITY SESSION?
Absolutely! Once your Booking Fee is received, I’ll send you a quick Pre-Session Questionnaire to help me get to know you, your preferences, and your style. You’re also welcome to send through screenshots of any of My Images from my portfolio that you love — this helps me plan the perfect setups and ensure we capture exactly what you’re hoping for. Please do not send me sother photographers images or images you have found on google.
👗 DO YOU HAVE GOWNS/OUTFITS I CAN WEAR?
I have a huge selection of beautiful Maternity Gowns that we can use during your session. As part of your Maternity Photography Session, you’ll have full access to my Client Wardrobe, showcasing a range of professionally designed Maternity Gowns that flatter all body types and look stunning on camera. You can view many of these maternity gowns in the gallery below.
🙋♀️ HOW MANY OUTFIT CHANGES CAN I DO DURING MY MATERNITY SESSION?
Your 1-Hour session includes time to choose your Gowns, and we generally aim for 2-3 outfit changes. If you're bringing a toddler or other children, the number of changes may vary slightly based on how the session flows. See more info on Client Wardrobe Below.
👚 CLIENT WARDROBE – GOWNS
• At the beginning of your session, you’ll have the opportunity to select your gowns from a beautifully curated collection
• The Gowns provided are hand-selected based on the inspiration images and colour preferences you’ve shared in your Pre-Session Questionnaire. This ensures the styling aligns perfectly with your vision.
• All Gowns in my Client Wardrobe are designed specifically for Maternity Bodies and Photography, with flattering cuts and fabrics that photograph beautifully to highlight your bump and glow.
👜 WHAT TO BRING – MUST HAVES
• Strapless Bra - Preferably in Beige, as it offers the most versatility under various gown styles.
• White, Beige & Black Underwear - Many gowns are sheer or lace, so neutral tones are best to stay discreet."
• Matching Bra & Underwear Set - Ideal if you’d like to include lingerie-style images during your session.
📆 CAN WE HAVE OUR SESSION ON THE WEEKEND?
Sessions are held on a weekday during school hours. I do not work on weekends
⌚️ HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION GO FOR?
Maternity Sessions are 1 Hour. Time is not extended if you are late
🌳 CAN WE HAVE AN OUTDOOR SESSION?
My sessions are done at my studio in Clyde. I do not do Outdoor Sessions or On Location Shoots
👨👩👧 CAN MY PARTNER AND OTHER CHILDREN BE INCLUDED?
Yes of course, you can include your partner or other children at no extra cost
🩰 DO WE NEED TO WEAR SHOES FOR OUR MATERNITY SESSION?
No shoes are needed for your maternity session. Bare feet work beautifully with gowns, as they naturally cover your feet and create a softer, more natural look in photos.
If your partner is joining, neat and clean dress shoes (or even barefoot) work best — but no sneakers or casual shoes, as they can distract from the style of the session.
For kids, I love bare feet as it feels simple and timeless, but I also recommend bringing along one pair of nice dress shoes just in case. Again, no sneakers or casual footwear.
👥 MAY I INVITE FAMILY MEMBERS TO THE SESSION?
Your session is exclusive to 2 adults. I like to keep the maximum family members at this session to the immediate family members only. Too many people trying to get your child to smile or talking, will distract your child.
💄 IS HAIR AND MAKEUP INCLUDED?
Makeup and Hair is not Included. This will need to be done or organised by you prior to arriving for your session

👀 WHEN WILL WE GET TO SEE THE PHOTOS?
You’ll receive sneak peeks within 1 week of your session — just a little taste to get you excited!
Your Full Proof Gallery will be sent approximately 1.5 weeks after your session, where you’ll be able to view and select your favourite images for final editing.
🏠 WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO?
Our studio is located in the south east suburbs in Clyde. I do not travel to customers homes
