WHAT IS THE BEST AGE FOR A CAKE SMASH?

Cake Smash sessions are the most popular and modern way to celebrate your little ones first-birthday! Most of my customers like to do the session as close to the birthdate as possible however we are happy to photograph the session from 10-14 months of age.

CAN THE CAKE BE SUGAR FREE?

Unfortunately my cake supplier can not supply sugar free cakes. My cake supplier can cater to all allergies but unfortunately can not supply sugar free cakes.

The icing can not be made without sugar. Your welcome to source your own cake if you wish.

CAN THE CAKE BE CATERED FOR EGG FREE/DAIRY FREE ETC?

Yes, my cake supplier can cater for Allergies such as Egg Free, Dairy Free etc. This will incur and extra $10 on your package

 

CAN WE HAVE OUR SESSION ON THE WEEKEND?

Sessions are held on a Monday and a Wednesday for Cake Smash Shoots. I do not work on weekends

MAY I INVITE FAMILY MEMBERS TO THE SESSION?

Your session is exclusive to 2 adults. I like to keep the maximum family members at this session to the immediate family members only.  Too many people trying to get your child to smile or talking, will distract your child.  

 

DO YOU INCLUDE THE CAKE AND DECORATIONS?

Yes! Alana Taylor Photography hires a professional cake maker to bake and decorate all my cakes! For this reason please let me know if your little one has ANY allergy so we can discuss options. Yes I provide decorations and props for your session. If you have something specific in mind please reach out to see if its possible

WHAT IF MY BABY DOESNT EAT THE CAKE?

This can may happen, for some babies this maybe the first time they have tasted something as sweet as a cake.  Some babies love the cake smash and dig right in, some just play in it but dont eat it.  Some babies are hesitant and some babies give that cake no chance of survival at all! Either way I like to ensure customers that whatever the outcome embrace it :) I always recommend giving your baby a try of a cupcake orcake and allowing them to play and experiment with the texture. This way, your child will be familiar with the process and will know that they can smash the cake and hopefully eat it too!  Also, bring or have on hand MumMum Crackers or a treat that they love so we can stuff them into the cake.  Your child will want to grab them out of the cake and eat it.

WILL I (MUM OR DAD) GET MESSY?

You most likely will.  You will have to show your child that they can eat the cake so you might have to take a bite yourself.  Yummy!  Also, your child may stand up and walk or crawl around or maybe even need a cuddle (Oh no! lol), so you will have to keep putting your child back into the designated space.  Your will get frosting on your clothes so don't wear anything you do not want to get ruined.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Cake Smash Sessions are $500. I will require a $50 booking fee/deposit to secure your session. This booking fee ($50 will come off the total. $450 will be payable on the day of your session.

CAN WE HAVE FAMILY PHOTOS AT THE SAME TIME?

Babies of this age are so much fun, however as a parent we know how quickly fun can turn into boredom or tears. This session is designed to take approximately one hour in order to keep your baby engaged. Family or sibling photos can be scheduled for another day. I cannot do normal baby photos or Family or sibling photos during a cake smash session. Cake Smash Session is for Cake Smash photos only

 

WHEN WILL WE GET TO SEE THE PHOTOS?

On the night of your session you will usually get a sneak peek up on my facebook page or within 48 hours of your session. Producing your beautiful photo gallery will take many hours of work to get them ready for viewing. Please allow approximately 1-2 weeks to view them.

 

WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO?

Our studio is located in the south east suburbs in Clyde. I do not travel to customers homes
