How Alana Taylor Photography is Managing the Corona Virus

Updated: Mar 17, 2020

Hello Lovely Clients,

I wanted to talk to you about COVID-19 and what we at Alana Taylor Photography are doing to ensure you, your family and my own family stay safe. I will continue to update everyone as we know more

We have recently spoken with Doctors locally as well as received updates from RCH in regards to this particular virus and have be assured that we are safe to proceed with sessions until further notice from Government.

There has been much concern around the corona virus and this is most definitely a situation that is new to us all and with all the news and hype surrounding the Coronavirus, I have decided to put customers at ease regarding upcoming sessions.

I believe transparency is very important so I'm reaching out to anyone who has an upcoming session to provide some clarity and assurance and updated studio/session policies. Currently I intend to move forward with all my sessions. I wanted to stress that my studio is NOT open to the public and there is no traffic flowing through there. Myself and my assistant are happy to wear a mask throughout your session and I am of course giving everyone the option to postpone for a later date if you feel this is something you want to do. However I would like to stress that there is only myself and my assistant in the studio and we will not be moving forward with any sessions if we feel unwell or any of our family or freinds become unwell.

We have updated our Hygiene policy, this has been updated to include the following:

  • Hand washing with soap and water for the recommended 20 seconds ( of soap washing before washing with water) more frequently.

  • Hand sanitizer to be used more frequently during sessions by photographer and assistant.

  • Hand sanitizer to be used by clients during the session.

  • Sanitization of all props and surfaces in studio before and after every session, even if the props were not used. Props will be limited during sessions. This includes door handles, chairs and sofas, bathrooms and sinks, camera and equipment and anywhere clients will come into contact with using hospital grade disinfectants.

  • Sessions to be rescheduled if clients or photographer show any symptoms of the current virus.

  • The photographer has the right to cancel/reschedule a session if clients arrive and appear to be flushed, sweating, have a runny nose or cough etc. We are happy to photograph newborns as old as 5 weeks however cannot guarantee all the sleepy squishy poses that can be achieved when they are within two weeks of age.

  • Face mask may be worn during sessions by the photographer and or client as a precaution.

  • Bottled water will be provided to all clients in leu of glasses of water.

  • I have removed my toys from the studio in order to prevent cross contamination and ask all parents to bring their own toys for the session as we always start every session letting your baby warm up before the session starts for baby and cake smash shoots

More Important Information below

Studio Policies

Myself and my Assistant Paula take much care and caution surrounding germs on a normal every day to day basis. All props and surfaces are wiped down and/or sprayed with a Department of Health recommended cleaner after each session. My studio is cleaned and sterilized after every session and I have now put in place a deep clean of my studio on a weekly basis. Clothing and fabrics are all washed.

We always wash our hands following Department of Health guidelines at the start of sessions and multiple times throughout. I have an antibacterial sanitizer that we also apply multiple times throughout sessions. This is normal protocol for us anyway.

NEW ILLNESS POLICY:

In light of the growing concerns surrounding the coronavirus, I will be implementing a STRICT illness policy. ANYONE coming in for sessions (including children, parents or anyone else attending) are asked to notify me of ANY signs of communicable illness (fever, cough, runny nose, etc). You will be asked to reschedule your session as my biggest concern is the health of my clients and thier babies. I will be as flexible as possible in reschedules. The same policy is also applied to me - if I or anyone in my family is sick, sessions will be immediately rescheduled. I ask that you all be understanding as this is to protect your family and your loved ones! Your safety is my top concern. This policy will be strictly enforced until we know more about this new virus.

Clients:

If you are concerned in any way please reach out to me so that I can work with you regarding how to move forward. I am happy to wear a mask during your session and I am of course giving everyone the option to postpone for a later date or to a Baby Shoot or Cake Smash at a later date. All deposits will be valid for 1 year from the date of this re-schedule.

Finally:

My family and I have committed to staying home and avoiding public places and large events. We are doing everything we can to minimize exposure.

I am following the news and updates and will continue to update clients of any changes as they are obviously changing by the minute.

Sending out lots of healthy vibes and hoping this passes quickly.
